Casadio Ermes Dual Coffee Grinder

Filter or espresso. Single shot or on-demand. Comes with two hoppers included.

One grinder. Two worlds. Endless coffee possibilities.

Casadio launched the Ermes Dual at the London Coffee Festival 2025 – a grinder that sets new standards for precision and versatility. With over 70 years of Italian expertise, it is designed to stand alone as a reference in the grinder world – not just as a complement to LaCimbali, Faema, or Slayer.

Created by Christopher Flechtner (behind the iconic Slayer machines), the Ermes Dual is built on three core principles:

  • Versatile – easily switch between on-demand and single-dose. From silky smooth espresso to crystal-clear pour-over, Chemex, V60, or cold brew – with no compromises.
  • Simple – real-time micron measurement and precise distance adjustment deliver consistent results every time, without unnecessary complexity.
  • Attractive – minimalist vertical aluminum design with visible details. A perfect balance of technology and aesthetics that elevates your setup.

The name says it all: Ermes (symbol of transformation) + Dual (two in one) – made to grow with you, whether you roast at home or serve in a small café.

Dreaming of perfect crema espresso in the morning and clean, sweet filter coffee in the afternoon – without changing grinders or wasting a single gram? Ermes Dual makes it effortless.

This flagship grinder is perfect for serious home roasters, dedicated home baristas, and small specialty cafés that switch between espresso and filter all day. With real-time burr distance measurement in microns, an intuitive 2.5" full-color touchscreen, and up to 6 saved recipes (time + precise micron setting), you switch seamlessly – always with the right setting.

Why Ermes Dual stands out

75 mm vertical flat burrs made of 42CrMo4 steel

Developed in close collaboration with Keber and the Cimbali Group. Specially optimized geometry delivers exceptional clarity, sweetness, and consistency – from classic espresso and Slayer-style shots to lightly roasted pour-overs and cold brew.

Extremely low retention

– 0.1 g for single-shot filter

– 0.5 g for single-shot espresso

– 5 g for on-demand espresso

True dual-mode with one touch

Switch instantly between on-demand grinding (with removable hands-free portafilter fork) and single-dose mode. Perfect when roasting your own beans and wanting maximum freshness.

Two hoppers included as standard

550 g standard hopper (ideal for 500 g roast bags) + dedicated single-dose hopper for precise single-cup brewing.

Manual bellows system

Easy, clean, and consistent dosing every time.

Fast and precise

Up to 3 g/s – fast enough for busy mornings or small café service, quiet and precise enough for single-cup work.

Design that inspires

Created by Christopher Flechtner – the same designer behind the iconic Slayer machines. Fully aluminum body with choice of black or white side panels, visible bean chute, exposed screws, and craftsmanship details give it a modern yet truly handmade soul. Weighs only 12.4 kg. It doesn’t just sit on your table – it elevates your entire coffee setup.

Casadio – An Italian heritage since 1950

Casadio was founded in 1950 in Bologna, Italy – in the heart of the country’s famous mechanical engineering district. The brand proudly carries Bologna’s most iconic symbol, the Neptune statue (Nettuno) from the famous 15th-century fountain, and shares the city’s core values: solidity, ingenuity, flexibility, and high performance.

Casadio Origins

The Origin

Nello Casadio was born on January 1, 1907, in Casalfiumanese in the province of Imola. After a severe storm destroyed the family home, they moved to Bologna. Here, Nello began working with mechanics alongside his studies at the Salesian Institute. Later, he specialized in turning, which led to the first products – small kitchen tools like the pasta press. These were the early beginnings of what would grow into a respected name in professional coffee equipment.

For more than 70 years, Casadio has produced 100% Italian-developed grinders and espresso machines, known for precision, reliability, and consistent quality. In 2009, Casadio became part of the Cimbali Group, where the brand gained access to even greater resources and innovation – while preserving its unique Bolognese identity alongside LaCimbali, Faema, and Slayer. The group’s acquisition of Keber in 2017 further strengthened expertise in burr design, clearly reflected in the advanced 75 mm burrs on the Ermes Dual.

Today, Casadio continues the tradition of “traditionally innovative” technology – always focusing on people, sustainability, and the perfect cup of coffee. From high-volume cafés to specialty coffee bars, Casadio delivers precision, reliability, and flavor that help baristas worldwide create unique experiences, cup after cup.

Sustainability – Our blend for the future

Year after year, our commitment to sustainability becomes more and more concrete. At Casadio and Gruppo Cimbali, we are among the leaders in climate action and the development of products that minimize environmental impact throughout the entire lifecycle – from materials and energy-efficient production to responsible supply chains and circular economy.

We focus on four core areas: People, Products, Planet, and Partnerships. This means greater emphasis on inclusion and well-being for our employees, ethics and transparency throughout the value chain, as well as continuous development of more energy-efficient and durable machines.

A concrete example of Faema’s sustainable mindset is the use of circular materials and durable design in their new home machines. The new E61 Cult is crafted with the finest Italian materials and precision, so the machine lasts for generations instead of being replaced. This is true sustainability: quality that endures.

For the conscious Scandinavian E61 enthusiast, the E61 Cult is therefore not just a machine. It is a choice that matches both your deep love for the legendary E61 brew group and your genuine care for the future.
