About the artist: Stanislavs Vilums
Born in 1968 in Rēzekne, Latvia, Stanislavs has dedicated his life to ceramics since 1990. As a trained art ceramist and master of folk crafts (TDM, 2000), he is a pioneer in reduced firing. His works have been exhibited internationally in Latvia, Norway, Germany and Australia, preserving Latvian cultural heritage through natural processes.

In the peaceful countryside of Latvia, Stanislav and Solvita bring old traditions to life. The cup is shaped on the potter's wheel, roasted in reduced fire for a unique finish that dances with life - including a subtle smoke scent like freshly milked milk or new leather that diminishes over time for authentic character.
